Re: lockheed decal

Hey All, The transfers look awesome to be sure. Referring back to the photo of the Girling can, I have seen a number of cars either fitted with a repro can with the repro Girling sticker, or with an original Lockheed can fitted with a repro Girling sticker. The cans are pretty much identical. My gue...

Re: photo of fuel cap

Hi Walter,

The petrol cap is the same design as the oil filler cap on the 1074cc engine except it does not have "OIL" debossed on the top.

Yes, it is vented.

The same cap is used on the 1933 / 37 Nine 4 seater sports and probably a number of other Singers.

Hope that helps!

Re: New Project

Hey Colin, I imagine the numbers of Juniors produced were still far behind the numbers of Austin Sevens produced so perhaps the survival rate is reflected in that. Singer may have been the third largest car manufacturer in Britain in the late 1920's, but their output was still much less than the top...

It's really looking good David!

I'm waiting for Tony's reply and photos. Hopefully they will yield some further clues!

Re: lockheed decal

Hey David, Good e-mailing with you on this over the weekend. Looks like it is approaching the definitive design. I agree that the Lockheed triangle is certainly in the middle top of the transfer for this era. 2" x 3" was the size I mocked up on my reservoir to approximate the ones shown in...

Re: New Project

Lovely cars guys!

The Junior is under-rated and undervalued in my opinion, especially when compared with the Austin Seven and other 'baby cars' of the period.

Great to see many of them being saved and appreciated...

Re: lockheed decal

Awesome work David! Paul and I originally thought that the Lockheed Corporate colour palette would be reflected in all of their packaging graphics, so used NOS packages as a reference. The main colours are light orange, black, white and red. We thought the main background colour was the orange, as s...

Re: New Project

Thanks Colin, Yes, that sounds the same at the Senior. The half round alloy strip was missing on my car, but I picked up a length at Beaulieu a couple of years ago. Looks like a bit of a bitch to curve at each end, but otherwise a straightforward installation. Having lots of photos of Colin Borley's...

Re: Greetings! In search of an expert

Hey Danny, Paul is correct about this car. Some years ago I assisted Bil Haley in purchasing his 1935 Le Mans 4 seater and a pre-purchase evaluation meant a road trip with Paul, Bil and Gene Abbondelo to see the '35. On the way we stopped so Gene could buy a Sunbeam Talbot Alpine. We also visited Da...

Re: New Project

Hey Coiin, -18C today with snow, so certainly no painting going on here for quite some time to come! May probably..lol! Thanks for the insight on the Rexine roof installation. Finding scraps of the original design was a real bonus. It helps me with the Senior too as my roof had a California makeover...

80 YEARS OF THE SINGER ROADSTER!

Hey Roadster Owners! 2019 marks 80 years since Singer introduced "The Greatest Little Roadster of our Time". The SOC and ASCO are already talking about celebrations in the UK and NASOC will be popping the champagne corks as well here in North America. That tagline will also form the basis ...

Hey Again Ed,

BTW, Singer Roadster wheels are 16", not 15".

Cheers,

Re: Wheels, road and steering availability

Hey Ed, I have steering wheels for the A Series, 4A and 4AB/AC/AD Roadster and all three are different in spoke and rim design. In addition, the center of the A and 4A wheel has a keyway and the 4AB/AC/AD has splines. The Turner wheel seems to have a thicker rim. This design of wheel was used on a l...

Re: Replica waterslide transfers

Hey David,

Yes...I do believe you are right...that gold foil finish looks more like the remains of the rear wing transfer I saw on a Nine saloon!

I'm with you..the increased cost is more than off-set by the better detail...
