Re: 1934 fuel sender for my Singer 9 sports.
Adding to Colin's comment, this is the unit I have bought and just awaiting delivery from the US (I believe it was Colin who originally posted the link to the unit in the Facebook group) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264874062622?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item3dabb9731e:g:FBgAAOSwpPVgBuwZ&amdata=...

Re: More running issues
Hi Mike, Thanks for all the useful advice! Regarding the choke, I have only been using this for starting the car and keeping it out for a short while afterwards before fully pushing it back in. I didn't give any consideration to this as I thought the choke was just used for initial starting and mayb...

More running issues
Hey everyone, I had my 32' Sports gearbox overhauled and a few other jobs done by John Parker at the end of October. It has been running lovely since and have taken it out on a few nice journeys. However, this afternoon I pushed it out the unit just so I could run it up to temperature and shunt it u...

Re: What is John Parkers workshop called?
I managed to speak with John yesterday but it seems he is inundated with work at the moment, and was reluctant to even give me an estimate for when he might be able to get mine into his workshop. Can anyone recommend a workshop - Preferably within say 3 hours of the Vale of Glamorgan - Who you have ...

What is John Parkers workshop called?
Good evening all, I'm wondering if someone can help me. I have recently spoken with Robert Elliott regarding getting my 9 gearbox looked at. He mentioned a John Parker who has experience restoring these gearboxes and I wanted to find out what his workshop is called. I have tried searching Google for...

Re: Pesky carburetor to manifold nut!
Thanks for the info David, I've just uploaded the factory card images to the other topic on here. I believe the "TV" registration plate was probably original as this matches the delivery location of Nottingham.

Re: Pesky carburetor to manifold nut!
Thanks both for the advice. As I found yesterday that one of my metric spanners with less "meat" around the jaw fitted in the gap, I too thought that grinding down the spanner would be a good starting place. Fortunately I've found and purchased this spanner on ebay which is the correct siz...

Pesky carburetor to manifold nut!
Hello all! So today I set about removing the Zenith carburetors and 2 very bothersome nuts really gave me trouble! As you can see from the photo, both nuts are so close to the manifold. The nut on the left was easy to remove because of the space to its left. The nut on the right, however, is so clos...

Re: What coolant to use
Yes I've seen it's registered to a Mercedes so the number plate was definitely sold on at some point. It's a shame because I'd prefer it to have the original plate, but at the same time I've grown up knowing the car with the 366 UXB reg so I do like it - It holds memories for me! I had a good chat o...

Re: What coolant to use
Hi Phillip, The history and documents that I have with the car are.... patchy.... to say the least! The furthest back I can find is 1962 when the registration book was re-issued. I know the non original number plate was always something that irked my Grandad! But since I was young I was told it was ...

Re: What coolant to use
Wow - Its amazing you've got those press photos! And its great to be learning different things about the car - I had no idea the significance of those vents. And the fact that the car is such an early example - I would never have known that the chassis line started at 4500! I cant tell if its just t...

Re: What coolant to use
Hi Phillip, As you can see from one of the photos, the car has now (finally) been moved indoors so it will now be much easier and dryer to have a look around the car in detail. I'll definitely investigate under the bonnet and have a look for those stamps. And while I'm at it I'll definitely take som...
