Re: 1928 Singer Senior rebuild and Hello !

Good to see you Colin,
I seem to have created a bit of a car club,
thoroughly enjoyable though !
Made a bit of progress this week, never enough time though ...

Hi Philip, yes the brass radiator cover was a lucky find, can't wait to see it chromed.

Will post progress pics again soon

Re: 1928 Singer Senior rebuild and Hello !

We keep chipping away at various bits, had a bit of luck with the radiator cover as it turns out its brass and it not too shabby a condition. I acquired a little 10 tonne bearing press and a small shot blast cabinet last year, they are really turning out to be very useful. The spring bolts are nearl...

Re: New Project

Hello Colin,
Your progress astounds me yet again ! I can certainly understand you wanting to get this stabilised..
It's a lovely coincidence we have these great projects on within 20 miles of each other, its a great motivator.
As I said will do all we can to help, thanks for showing us around.

Re: 1928 Singer Senior rebuild and Hello !

Thank you all for the words of wisdom & encouragement, I learnt many years ago that 'wear begets wear' so we have elected to remanufacter all the critical parts with suitable steel of a known and certifiable quality. They will look to all intents and purposes as the originals. Some parts have fa...

I sometimes weld a donor bolt to damaged studs if struggling to drill out, the heat from the tig weld helps release old threads
