Re: Stowe VT Brithish Invasion 2016
"2016 marks the 80th Anniversary of the 1936 Olympics, the only Olympics ever to feature a motoring event and which saw a Singer 1.5 litre Le Mans win a gold medal, the only car ever to do so." Additionally, 2016 marks the 60th anniversary of the SINGER Gazelle. Introduced September 1956, ...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?
Mark, This is not to derail your exploring of this wonderful new technology, but your original question was asking who had tried electronic ignition, so I will jump in. I installed the Pertronix ignition in my 4A with 1074cc. perhaps nearly 10 years ago. I believe the Pertronix man had not done a 4A...

Hey, I have a Sunbeam Tiger too....albeit very poor condition. Tiger # 152 from August '64. It's one of my retirement projects, when I have ample time and patience....and much of both will be needed. Maybe it will be too fast for me by that time and I will re-embrace the safe, sure-footed, faithful ...

Although I wouldn't want to take a stand on whether it was better to have a fuel pump as a Pusher or a Sucker (hey....wasn't that a '70's movie?), I have one of the new generation electronic SU pumps mounted in the engine compartment, operating as a Sucker of course. Actually, I have it installed on...

STOWE !!
Yes indeed, the little 4A will be a bit slower than the mighty '49 "1500". My hope is to run in the draft of Gene's car (as in NASCAR racing) and thereby get a little pull for the 1074 cc. through the Green Mountain state.
Just enjoying the draft (oh no... that's Paul's motto)

Peter, Thanks so much for the welcome. I must say it is certainly a pleasant and unique experience being both a pre and post war Singer owner. I did see the picture of my '35 on your website a few years ago, but it was not until the previous owner had passed along some photos to me that I realized i...

I did not spot a credit, but I think that great photo of the Stowe Rally was taken by Dave Norton in his 4AD (Michigan). I'm hoping for an even longer parade of Singers this year !

Roadster bonnet hinge brackets
Gene, My 4A came with the MG style over-the-hinge bracket, but were flimsy with cracking metal. Someone on the old bulletin board (perhaps Mr. Rambour) advised on the Morgan type. I purchased my set from Morgan dealer Cantab Motors in Purcellville, VA. They came as a machined piece of brass, which w...
