Re: Le Mans Progress

Let us know when you take the Nine to the paint shop, and post some pictures when home again --or do you want to surprise us at Stowe?

Either way, savor the path and success!

Cheers

Re: Singers on the road!

I agree with Peter's assessment: what a lovely recreation. It's so common to have life come along and cover up the things we love. It's my wish, Danish, that you find a way to get that lovely vehicle out to stretch its/her legs. I can almost say for sure that she would appreciate the attention. You ...

Re: SOC National Rally 2017

Let me second Mike Rambour's comments and enthusiasm. First, thanks for posting the great photos: the cars are wonderful, and in great variety; the house and setting aren't half bad either. Second, maybe we could form an American contingent to go next year. Nancy and I would love to go, and possibly...

Re: Singers on the road!

These wee ones are simply dear! And they make such a distinctive impression: they can't be mistaken for anything else. One of many things I love about Singers. Thanks for those sharing these photos. It's really a great opportunity to learn more about other prewar models. Cheers, and Singer Seat Time...

Re: New Pre-War Singer engine castings...

Spoke again recently with John Gibson about his replacement aluminum engine and cylinder head castings. My car is a 1936 Nine Sports, CRL157 ( Charlotte ) and the correct cylinder head corresponds with the chassis upgrade to Bantam specs that occurred in the Nine Sports and LeMans Singers for the 19...

Re: Singers on the road!

Hi Peter,

What a Great looking four seater! Is it a 1935 car?

Where was this shown? Is it someone we know?

Thanks for posting the picture. It looks as though the owner and car won a (well deserved) prize.

Neat!

Re: Le Mans Progress

Hi Peter, Your work is really coming together. Hope you're having some satisfaction along the way, too. The car looks so good in polished metal, it almost makes me wonder if you should leave it that way. Look forward to more progress reports. Hope all's well. I'll call about the cylinder head(s) lat...

Seeing the on-road photos is so much more informative!

The Junior in the photo above is simply beguiling. Thanks for posting.

Re: Bell Housing Strengthening Bracket

Gee, Phillip, This looks fantastic! Can't wait until these are available 'commercially'. Count me in, please. I would love to mount this as part of the drive train to make sure as much power gets to the rear wheels as possible, and away from the more fragile aluminium bits. Thanks for your and Barry...

Re: Stowe VT British Invasion 2017

Hi Peter, Thank you for the post to my thread about a cracked cylinder head, and for sending photographs. The head you show is correct for my year of car and would be a great assistance in getting my car back on the road if I could secure it. Have you examined the head for cracks? I've learned this ...

Re: lockheed decal

Hello All, I believe this doesn't need to become a 'rocket science' project. A Sunbeam acquaintance in Kentucky had an excellent decal made by the local graphics company's (Staples, I think) xerox techs. The decal was a Cavallino Rampante on a shield, the standard Ferrari emblem used in the early 19...

Re: New Pre-War Singer engine castings...

Thought to revive this thread for a moment. Phillip suggested the Gibsons develop a crossflow head for our Nines. When I was learning about Crosley engines, there was an enterprising fellow who liked challenges and played with CAD/CAM in his spare time. He consulted a few of us about the engine's or...

Re: 1937 nine sports restoration

Salut François, Writing to learn how long John has had your engine? I know there's a lot that needs to be done to make the engines reliable; they are the weak point of the Singer in many ways. Even though the design is a good one, the metallurgical knowledge in England was the weak link. You probabl...
