Re: New Project

Well Colin, it's come down to this: When you're done with this project, I have a Nine Sports that could well benefit from your ministrations.

Do you take on commissions?

Keep up the momentum. You're doing a tremendous job. It's inspiring.

Re: New Project

Hi Colin, The work you've done on the oil filler cap looks superb. What epoxy did you use? Did you make a mold? build up the epoxy slowly or all at once? and shape it after forming, or during the epoxy stage? Is it painted, and if so, did you need to prime before painting? I would like to restore th...

Re: 1928 Singer Senior rebuild and Hello !

Lucky, you lot, to have such talented Singer enthusiasts so close at hand.

We have to travel quite a distance to speak Singer with anyone knowledgeable.

Savor it!

Cheers,

Re: Le Mans tools and tool deck

Hi Darcy, Thank you for showing the photos of your reclaimed tool roll. It's very exciting to see how effective (and successful) you have been in reclaiming the roll's function. Well done! Clearly you're making tremendous progress. I love the customized touch of the wooden dash top. It's great that ...

Re: Washer stuck in timing chain

Well done on all fronts!

Can't say how lucky David is to have friends like you in the Singer world, Colin. Hope your engine is unseized by now and that you are both off for a pint at the local pub.

Cheers,

David

Re: 1934 Windscreen Posts / staunchness

Happy New Year, Dave! Have you yet reached a point of trial fitting your windscreen? Inquiring minds want to know [what you have discovered about the fit and function of the windscreen locking mechanism, and the way it works with the spring you so creatively made]. Excellent work. Hope the year is o...

Re: Le Mans tools and tool deck

Hi Darcy,

Wondering what progress you may have made with your scuttle top. And your tool roll. Have you been able to soften it a bit?

Look forward to hearing how you are progressing.

Regards,

David

Re: lockheed decal

Yet another wonderful find from within our ranks, and a great project. Is it too bold to congratulate us as a group --or at least the helpful, knowledgeable and talented ones among us? David, thank you so much for taking the initiative to have this project done. I would love one of these badges. It ...

Re: New Project

Hi Colin, Once again, you are making landmark progress. What an inspiration! When you have replacement bolts made to hold the leaf springs, can you have the machinist give a wee bit of a radius in the transition from the loaded portion of the bolt (we call it the shank, but you may have a different ...

Hi Colin, Once again, your enthusiasm and drive are great to witness. It's fantastic, and inspiring, to see how much you're able to get done in such short order. Clearly the car is a worthy and wonderful candidate. Keep us posted. There are so many in your part of the world that need your touch! Ver...

Re: 1928 Singer Senior rebuild and Hello !

Re: 'Bit of Wear' photo While it looks to be an original part, which is informative and very cooI --I save every unstressed original fastener I can on my 1936 Nine Sports-- I find myself concerned over the machining of that fastener and the mechanical role it is asked to play. Can you imagine why? I...

Hello Rob, What a Brilliant project! That is one beautiful example of automotive history; grateful to see the body in what appears to be sound and strong condition. The frame bits you show seem almost too light to bear the apparent weight of that stately coachwork. Look very much forward to watching...

Re: STOWE 2017..A HOT TIME IN THE HILLS!

You look a happy lot in that gorgeous weather.

Wish I could have stayed for the full weekend. The rally was well worth the travel time for spending a great day motoring about with Tartas and Singers, in Singers. Let's see if we can get lost next year! This rally was far too tame!

Cheers, All,

Re: California Coupe

Hi Peter,

From this photograph the Singer shown appears to be an early Nine Coupe. Is that correct?

It has an unusual registration, as well. Interesting.

Please let us all know if you learn any more about it.

Cheers,

David
