Le Mans back axle differential cover - right way up ?
Hi I have been filling the back axle with oil and it struck me that I might have the diff cover on the wrong way around. The bolt holding the cover on are equally spaced so it appears that it could be easily done. There are 4 threadedplugs on the casing and cover. The one on the top of the axle casi...

Hello John
Thank you, yes that is helpful.
On the photograph is there something shown in the centre of the brass part on the left hand side ?

34 Le Mans horn assembly
Hello I am struggling to work out how the horn is assembled within the steering wheel boss. I am lucky to have the original boss and horn button as well as plate G as shown in the Hardwick catalogue. What I can't figure out is how the circuit is completed to operate the horn and whether there is a s...

Re: Tacho drive 1933/34
I have just fitted this to my '33 Le Mans but had to elongate the holes on the Hardwick supplied flange to get the holes to line up. What I am a bit unsure about is where the speedo cable and rev counter cables feed through the toe board. Currently both put through the hole for the steering column a...

Hello David
I have just realised who you are (I think !)

Re: Singer pictures from personal archives
Hello Danish Thanks for the details. My car competed in both the RAC Rally and Monte Carlo Rally in 1934. Dave Harris unfortunately had to retire from the Monte after his fuel tank was spiked with sugar. Do you think there might have been some assistance given by Singer to these two cars entering th...

Re: Singer pictures from personal archives
Hello It is great to see all of these original pictures of Singers. I have attached some pictures of my car competing in 1934 owned and driver by D. E. Harris. I have also taken a photo of an oil painting that a friend did for me and of the car itself. I hope you enjoy. David P.S if anyone has any h...

Re: SLC 2 connections
Thank you both for your interesting and informative responses. I am also looking at getting the Steering boss and horn button reporduced and a company in Glasgow are willing to have a go. If they are cheap enough Iwill let you know. I was more interested in the connecting bolt between the steering b...

SLC 2 connections
I am trying to fit my SLC2 switch to the Le Mans but am not sure how it is fitted. It is my understanding that a threaded bar of 1/4" at one side and 5/16" at the other with a large central nut is attached between the two lugs (one on the steering column plate and one on the switch) Is thi...

Re: Le Mans Progress
Hello Peter
I am fascinated by the upholstery panels which I will need to make for my car of the same age. Did you use originals as templates or cut from scratch ? What thisckness of ply did you use ?
