Bulb Horn Article
Hi all;
Just saw a nice article about a Singer 4AD owned by Rick Haskell in the Bulb Horn the publication of the VMCCA. It was in the Sept/Oct issue, also it was a very nice looking car.

Merry Christmas
With all the family and friends around my poor 4ad sits alone in the corner of the shop. I walked by this morning and gave it a pet on the bonnet and told it I was sorry that I could not play today. Even if your Singers are lonely I hope that you all have a very merry Christmas and a Singery new yea...

Re: Building spark plug wires
Fred; I have not seen any posts from you lately I was hoping to hear if you had removed all of the weld and JB weld to see what you have under the mess. I know how you feel right now and it cost me a year of feeling sorry for myself. If you cannot fix the block you should be able to find another. If...

Active Topics Option
Mike:
I was wondering why I cannot get the active topics function to work when I search this site? It worked before but I cannot make it work now. Also I was wondering how to post pictures on the site. I hope you can help me as I seem to need it.

Re: Building spark plug wires
Fred: I have not seen where the plate process works on these blocks. They are just too thin and the cracks just seem to keep growing and there is no good sealing surface on the side of the block. You are most likly going to have to find a new block. I do have one done at this time and it is ready fo...

Re: Building spark plug wires
FRED; YES I WOULD TEAR THE ENGINE DOWN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD THINK THAT THE CRACKS SHOULD BE DRILLED AND PLUGED ON THE ENDS TO KEEP THEM FROM SPREADING FURTHER. I WILL CALL MY ENGINE GUY TO SEE IF HE CAN REMEMBER WHAT THE PRODUCT WAS THAT WE USED. IT IS NOT A STOP LEEK PRODUCT BUT A WATER JAC...

Re: Building spark plug wires
Fred; Mike is right that welding is not an option!! Brazing has not seemed to work for me either it is not a good method to patch leaks and does not help the structure of the metal. Stiching is a great method for heads but the metal seems a little thin on the side of the block with the water jacket ...

Re: Building spark plug wires
FRED; EVEN IF THE SPRING IS NOT BROKEN I WOULD RECOMEND REPLACING IT WITH A SQUARE CUT SPRING AVAILABLE FROM BILL HAVERLY OR PERHAPS DAVE GREEN HAS SOME. I ALSO MAKE A LONGER RETAINING CLIP TO MOVE THE TUBE MORE FORWARD TO AVOID THE CHAIN. THIS PROBLEM I THINK IS THE LARGEST DESIGN FLAW IN THE 1500 ...

Re: Building spark plug wires
Fred; Steve is spot on on his assembly instructions. You are correct that your discs are wrong, they should be small round brass discs (about the same diameter as the wire) with a small hole in the middle. You should be able to get them from a good automotive store, good luck on your start up. Forre...

4AD OUT OF DEEP STORAGE
HI GUYS AND GALS; I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER MY BARN FIND 53 4AD THAT WAS IN THE BARN AT STOWE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, BUT IT IS OUT OF DEEP STORAGE AND IN THE ON DECK CIRCLE. THE TWIN CARB ENGINE HAS HAD THE MACHINE WORK DONE SO IT IS TIME TO PULL THE ENGINE OUT AND PUT THE NEW ONE IN. THE CHASSIS...
