Re: Vinyl Roof Material
Martrim in the UK have quite a few hooding materials although I can't see anything like your picture. Is it possible that the material has rubbed over time to make the 'pepper and salt' look? Here is the link to Martrim so perhaps worth a look yourself. https://www.martrim.co.uk/car-trimming-supplie...

Re: UV2674 Singer Senior Gearbox Stud
Hello David - good to see another Singer owner. The fount of all knowledge on Seniors is Colin Borley who doesn't appear on-line but his contact details are in the UK SOC club magazine.

Re: Vinyl Roof Material
I think you need to post a picture of the original fabric.

Re: 35 LM Carburettors
If they give a positive response Michael I'm happy to act as a go-between. I have done this with other members of the Australian club where a UK supplier won't post abroad.

Re: 35 LM Carburettors
If you are in the UK you could try the Carburetor Exchange as they have many spares for all sorts of carbs and do a very nice job of rebuilding them (see the picture of the Solex from my '37 coupe after their rebuild including a new OS float bowl). I personally would not write off an original part b...

Re: The Restoration of AYW709
I have been reading Mike but have nothing to post after finishing the seats on the Six!

Re: New Project
Phew - seats finished! The rear seat base is a different colour as I had to buy another hide, but I'm OK with that: the overall look is fine and the interior smells wonderful!

Re: New Project
Phew - last piece of sewing completed with the rear seat base. It isn't fully sewn to the springs yet but it is a major milestone. I had to buy another hide as the pieces were so big and it is a different colour to the rest being more towards the black end of the scale. I don't think this will matte...

Re: New Project
Thanks for the benevolent pressure Brian - I'm really glad I had a go at it. So far as other projects go Peter we are all crazy enough to do it all again, although I would have to sell something to make a budget and to release space in a shed (unless I build another shed...). .

Re: New Project
Rear seat cover tacked onto the wooden support and in the car just to see how it looks. I'm quite pleased. (The door cards are exactly the same colour as the seat - it's just the effect of the flash in the rather dark barn)

Re: New Project
The rear seat back cover is sewn up and the side piece added on one side. I hope to do the other side today so i can put it in the car. The seat base needs a bit more care as the mesh has corroded away and some springs were missing. I have bought replacements which need to be tied in. rear seat 1.JP...

I was only talking about the rod Brian not the form of the bonnet.

Re: Aluminium/aluminum bonnet/hood
I need to check but I think MG T Types use brass rods for the side hinges even though the bonnets are steel. I have a couple in the barn so I could give you the diameter if that was useful.

Re: New Project
Thanks Brian, I'm pretty pleased with the overall look and the interior is starting to smell of leather which is very nice. The padding on the back seat is indeed felt and from what I can tell that was all there was apart from the padded flutes on the cover. I intend adding felt all over the mesh be...

Re: New Project
The two front seats are sewn up and in the car for storage while I wait for the padding to arrive to fill around the sides. I'm having a bit of a problem with securing the Hidem banding on the back as the thickness of the material to be nailed varies, and the wooden plates secured to the frame are q...
