Re: Steering rod nut

Hi
Thanks David for expanding on my question.
I asked because if he came back and said the ball was worn then I could offer a NOS ball [with a nut!]

Best wishes

Re: Jaeger speedometer

Hi Peter

If your speedo is a total goner I have a 5 inch speedo with Trip and odometer, 1600 TPM but with a gold face. You would have to swap the face with yours It is of the moving magnet type not the old chronometric,

Best wishes

Hi Francis

That is a rather early rod. What is the condition of the ball inside the part you picture?

Hi

Look for a pre war 9 hp car with hydraulic brakes. Use the complete brake assemblies and drums on your 4A

Re: Advertising material

I wonder if you mean the little brochure that was issued at the time that the Le Mans came on the market in late 1933. It describes the Le Mans and Sports cars. The Le Mans had the rear hinged doors.

Thackeray washers

Does anyone know of a source of thackeray washers ?
These are used on the brake anchor bolts on the 1935 onward Le Mans brakes [with the pressed steel brake shoes].
A different size is also used on the 1936 -38 Bantam brakes and the 10hp brakes.

Re: Help identifying coupe

Hi Colin

The 1937 coupe is described in page 26 of the Book of the Bantam.

Your car appears to be missing the correct radiator mascot. It should be a "9" with a streamlined back The same as the 1938 Bantam.

Best wishes

That looks like the surround fitted to the engine with a fluid flywheel. The two outer legs sit on the chassis

The other looks like a 1935 Le Mans coupe which would be mounted on a double drop chassis...

Re: Help identifying coupe

Hi Philip It looks like a Bantam Coupe. They were only built in 1937 The inside shot shows a Le Mans type gear shift which is not correct for the Bantam Coupe which had a three speed gear box with a remote gear shift peculiar to the Coupe model The dash should be the same as the ordinary Bantam. The...
