Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

I have two people interested in our ignition kit. Perhaps a few others might be lurking in the shadows? If we are going to design a kit for the Singer, now is the time. Spring and Summer are very busy for us. Hopefully everyone has a nice shoveled path to their garage and projects are getting done. ...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

Here is a Kawasaki W1 kit we just created. It's the only one right now, but the gentleman owns 5-6 and wants this on every one. He didnt send the cap, but look at how it fits down into the distributor so people wont know its there. Multi sparking is the best invention...lol. It starts better, idles ...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

I was told there are not many Singer cars left, but since the distributor is shared with other vehicles, we could start a group project covering all the models that could use them. So far i haven't seen anyone else who wants one for a Singer, so maybe these cars start and run good and don't need upg...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

Sorry for delay. I dont get email notifications when a reply is posted. Our ignition module would fit inside the distributor body. One set of leads run to the coils. ALL sparkplug wires begin at the coil pack and end at the engine (just like a motorcycle). I was just trying to explain that if you ar...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

This is the coil we'd probably use. It runs a 4 cylinder engine. If you have a 6 cylinder we'd use three of our DF coils. They are small and easy to install. You asked about quantity and my plans would be to offer these to all the vehicle owners who have something using that distributor (i was told ...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

I will try to answer as best i can. If your distributor inside diameter is at least 2.7", then we can use a motorcycle module and quite possibly your stock distributor will be unchanged on the outside (appearance). You will no longer need to have vacuum advance installed, and you will not need ...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

There are several ways we might build this system. Your input would be important to us. If the points plate is the same diameter between the two cars, it wont matter, and we can probably use the same exact setup for each. On many distributors we use a motorcycle module and retain the stock distribut...

Re: Electronic Ignition for 4AD ?

Has anyone looked at or tried an electronic ignition replacement in a 4AD? I am only getting about a year out of the condenser on mine. Whenever I drive any distance in hot weather my condenser acts up. I'm wondering if the electronic ignition would be a cure for this. Any thoughts or comments? Mar...
