Re: Quick update on my 4AD - and... new lug nuts?

Pretty sure. I bought it from the family of a guy who had the car since 1962, I'm not 100% sure but I believe they are original.

Re: Quick update on my 4AD - and... new lug nuts?

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the confirmation. Mine aren't terrible so I can keep using them. The threads seem fine, they're just a bit rusty on the outside. Nothing a wire wheel won't clean up if I really want. I always put my lug nuts on by hand so I don't over-torque them, never trust tire shops to ...

Quick update on my 4AD - and... new lug nuts?

Afternoon everyone, Been a bit since I posted. I've been busy with my son's Spitfire and his newborn daughter (our first grandchild!) so I haven't done much with the Singer. Last week I got a new set of tubes/tires for it so once I get a few other things sorted (brake adjustment, carb rebuild) - I c...

Re: New Owner - quick question about shop manual

Good use of paper! I'm in IT by profession but I'm "of a certain age " so I do like my shop manuals in paper format. Saves from getting grease all over my phone and I can make notes if needed.

Can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Re: Dash question(s)

Trafficators were a option, not on every car. The switch was on the aluminum part of the cowl in the dip in the center of the car. Should be a picture of my old 4AD somewhere in the gallery that will show the correct dash. On the early cars, I only assume that if the trafficator option was purchase...

Re: Dash question(s)

Important is the type of the car, if yours is the 4A, the trafficator switch is on the steering wheel. I think a copy from an original dashboard is not easy to find. A lot are modified, or replaced by "home made" . Mine is a 4A, it looks like with a copy from he original, but to much dama...

Dash question(s)

Hello Everyone, More newbie questions. Dashboard this time. I have car # 1610, so it looks like it would have had the earlier dash. What is on the car now is a home-made dash (stained plywood) that has all the controls in incorrect positions and several missing. I'd like to replace it with something...

Re: Brochures?

Hi Mike,

I figured it out, sorry - my fault! My ad blocker was blocking the links. I 'whitelisted' the singercars.com domain and I'm good now - thanks!

Brochures?

Is there a link somewhere to view images of the sales brochures for the 4AD? It looks like the links on www.singercars.com are broken or missing.

Re: New Owner - quick question about shop manual

Awesome Mike - I'll hold onto my... seat. :D Luckily, I have another project car in the queue ahead of the Singer, so I'm in no big rush. In the meantime, I'll tinker with the Singer to fix some of the simple and obvious things along the way since it does run/drive and I'd like to get it out on the ...

Re: New Owner - quick question about shop manual

Hey thanks Mike, appreciate the response. I did find that PDF you linked to and figured it's not a bad start. I'm certain to drive everyone here a bit nuts with a lot of questions as I go along.

New Owner - quick question about shop manual

Good morning all, New owner of a 1952 4AD. I'm planning to write up a longer intro with pics, etc. so stay tuned for that. Typically when I get my hands on a new LBC, the first order of business is to get my hands on a shop manual. I've been searching about and believe I have found a source for one....
