NASOC News 2017

Phillip/Dave
Presumably Issue 2 2016 won't be seen. Any chances for something current for our membership in 2017?

Solex carb throttle spindle bushing

Adjusting my carbs a few weeks ago, I found the throttle spindles were quite sloppy which was causing idling difficulties. I contacted Gower and Lee in the UK and purchased a bushing kit to tighten things up. The kit consisted of two bushings and a new throttle spindle (the spindles and their housin...

Not quite. I'm having a radiator made up and then on to the paint shop.

Ottawa British Car Day 2017

Probably one of the best Ottawa British Car Days yet. The weather was glorious, particularly in contrast to the string of rainy days we have endured so far this summer. The show was graced with the presence of 3 Singers, including Barry Phillips’ 35 Le Mans, my ’34 Nine Sport and Robert Moreau’s mod...

Re: Singers on the road!

A pity. Such a lovely recreation. By the way, I owned car #45030 and regrettably passed it on to a fellow in the States about 10 years ago. I know he did considerable restoration work on it, but to my knowledge it is not yet on the road. Certainly it would be one of the earliest (if not the earliest...

Re: SOC National Rally 2017

Right you are. Lindsay and I had the pleasure of cruising down the M1 to Northampton in JP's 2 Litre GFO 146. What a lovely car to drive. Mike, if you had the opportunity to do the same, you would have your 1.5 restored in a nanosecond. It's quite freeway friendly. Lindsay with John P. below. englan...

Re: SOC National Rally 2017

Martyn Wray twisted my arm a couple of weeks ago. Lin and I will be there. FYI, it's the SOC's 70th anniversary and will be well worth celebrating.

Brirtish Invasion 2017 - Singer Featured Marque

Nothing official on what NASOC has planned at Stowe this year, but folks should be aware that Singer is one of the featured marques. That means special attention to Singer Owners by the British Invasion organizers and a chance to talk up the marque. Hotels will be starting to fill up at this point, ...

Re: WANTED Singer Car Owners Information

I don't think I'd rush to change the body. It's got kind of a hi tech appeal to it that goes well with the bare metal finish.

Re: WANTED Singer Car Owners Information

Conor,
I assume the running gear is all original Bantam, with the exception of the engine. I assume this is the 1500 cc post war engine. Have there been any engine mods done. How did it stack up against the competition?

Very cool looking car. Is it still running and do you have any additional photos.

Re: Le Mans Progress

Yes, the polished metal look would be interesting, but Lindsay thinks it would look too cold. And yes, I am getting great enjoyment out of the restoration. Completion is really the end of the trip.
