Reassembly roadster grill

Now that my grill has been refinished, I'm needing to reassemble. But as I was not the one that disassembled, I'm having difficulty. By looking at these images my main difficulty is getting the part on the grill that has the hole to engage with that bolt/nut arrangement on the radiator housing. Is t...

Re: Misc. parts to identify

those are the rear engine/transmission mounts, never seen the wooden parts before and not related to the motor mounts. Under the headlights was a rubber gasket, not wood. I knew about the transmission mounts. I was just surprised that the outline matched, and even the hole separation was the same. ...

Misc. parts to identify

Finally getting the car put together and have come across a couple of miscellaneous pieces. Not sure where they belong. I've had several people helping me over the years and was probably not the one that disassembled some of these parts. Anyone has suggestion these? I thought for a minute it had som...

Re: Head for 51 1500cc 4AD

Yes, that does look like the real deal. Time for a history lesson. In mid/late 1955 Singer changed the head design and this is one of those heads. It will fit your car and all 4AD's. Notice the 3 intake holes though, that is because the head can be used as a Twin-carb OR a Single carb. There is a s...

Just found this online, obviously you can only tell so much from a picture, but do these look like the real deal?

Head for 51 1500cc 4AD

Long story short, I need a head for my 1500 CC 4AD motor. My old head had cracks that were welded, but upon finally starting up the engine after 30 years of inactivity and after much work $$ almost every major component replaced or refurbished, there is still water getting into one of the cylinders,...

Re: Oil Pressure release valve 4AD 1951

A little rusty but I think it will work just fine image.jpg On its way tomorrow Mike Absolutely great, thank you. Not sure how mine went missing. I'm thinking the person tasked with breaking down the block for cleaning is the likely suspect. I can't wait for it to arrive and move forward with final...

I know back when you were attempting to help me find my connecting rod, they were seized up inside of a block. So I was wondering if that block would have the oil pressure release valve assembly that you'd be willing to sell ?

mikeyr wrote: Wed Sep 27, 2023 7:40 pm what pressure release valve ? the motor free flows to the environment, unless I am thinking incorrectly.
The oil pressure release valve, that is located on the side of the block near the oil filter.

Oil Pressure release valve 4AD 1951

Somehow during the rebuild between two different locations the oil pressure release valve assembly has gone missing. Does anyone know of a easy cross reference to another oil pressure release valve assembly that works with a 1500cc 1951 singer motor. And if not, where I may locate an original ? Than...

Re: Connecting Rod for 1951 4AD Roadster

cool, the pistons didn't move over the weekend, I was going to take the block to work and use the hydraulic press but its a university not a machine shop so while we have a press in the foundry part of the Arts area, its not something I can get to everyday. Let me know... It seems like the connecti...

Re: Connecting Rod for 1951 4AD Roadster

I didn't get the pistons out, soaking them some more. Had a unplanned, unscheduled welding class on the weekend and also some prep time for our weather (after the earthquake), but the good news is that the oil I put in the other day went down which hopefully means the pistons will come out next tim...
