Re: Dynamo C39PV2 22258
Would anyone know by looking at a Dynamo for sale on eBay for example. How to tell if it's positive earth or negative earth? Is there something in the model number or just as long as I get the right model number/serial number, I am good?

Re: Dynamo C39PV2 22258
That would be great, thank you for your time and effort in looking. I actually had one with my car, but between it going from my garage to a friend's house to start our re-fabrication project and then back to my garage when the engine was delayed in shop, it seemed to go missing. Thank you, Bill

Looking for a Dynamo C39PV2 22258, mine went missing somehow??
Rebuilt or not, working or not. I live in Virginia, USA and will pay the shipping.
Or would anyone know where to buy one besides eBay, thanks.

Re: Cam & Rockers 51 Singer 4AD 1497cc
the 4AD engines were all the same, minor improvements in components on the later years but the major components are all the same. A 51 head will fit and work on a 55 and vice-versa. No difference in camshafts either. Now I'm just needing a set (eight) of good rockers. My shop found someone to build...

Re: 1951 Singer 4AD engine, 1497cc
My circumstance is almost identical to yours. The block and head are at a machine shop getting rebuilt, but the cams are worn too low and the rocker ends are too flat. I going to reach out to the folks mentioned above, but being I'm in the states having things shipped overseas would be my last optio...

Re: Direction Indicator Mystery on Roadsters
....or you could just replace the bulbs in the trafficators with flashing LEDs from here: http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com/festoon-bulbs.php job done! Have you done this Mod on your Singer ? And from that link that's part number 2 ? Haven't got my trafficators working yet, they're a direct...

Re: Direction Indicator Mystery on Roadsters
I had a similar dilemma when I restored my 1952 4AD. I was totally unfamiliar with anything Singer (except sewing machines) when I started my project. When I got far enough along to restore the body, I found slots behind the doors that had been "bondoed" over and had galvanized backing st...

Transmission rubber cover
I know an original rubber transmission cover (see below) can't be found.
But does anyone know of an aftermarket one, maybe made of fiberglass or something.

Re: Misc pieces for the 4AD
Might want to call Metro as I think they have wrong price on the website https://metrommp.com/clutch_and_brake_pedal_pads_134_wide_x_3_long_pair_cb_98/ Would hope so, $258 for two rubber pedal pads ?? I found some now on the Moss Motor site at $4.99 a set, just no "S" on the pad. And on t...

Misc pieces for the 4AD
Did the 4AD come with brake / clutch pedal rubber pads ? Mine are just bare metal. Also looking for a rubber grommet for the space between the car body and the gas filler tube. And this door hardware piece (the male side) that goes on the door, only have the one. IMAG2528.jpg IMAG2527.jpg IMAG2525.j...

Re: Links for rear shock absorber 52 4AD
I may have info on the links, I will check For the rear mounts, there is a rubber door stopper that works "almost" perfectly, you have to round off a little bit of the top to fit in the cups, I should have the part number for it. DO NOT buy the one below until I verify the part number... ...

Re: Tire size for spare wheel well 52 4AD
Ended up with just using my old spare tire 5.00-16 (Goodyear with the diamond pattern) as my spare. That fits !
Now have and extra brand new 5.00/5.25-16 Avon that cost $219. Thinking about returning it for a refund, but my friend thinks keeping it for a possible switch out if ever needed is best ?
