Re: Rear Bumper

My solution with the parts on hand, and without additional drilling was to use bushings, I choose brass.

Re: Rear Bumper

If I remember correctly and no promises of that, there are no spacers. On my car I THINK the spring bracket went next to the bumper but I have also seen it where the spring bracket went behind the upright and the bumper on the outside. In other words that bent up vertical bracket was between bumper...

Re: Gas tank sender bolt size ?

Well I checked last night and they were 2BA on my 4AD, I had kept a rusty sending unit just for the float in case I ever needed it, the bolts are 2BA. Just wanted to let you know you were spot on. I ordered a half dozen of the 2BA bolts, and they fit into the gas tank sender unit and secured the un...

Rear Bumper

I'm re-posting this question about the assembly of rear bumper on a 52 4AD roadster. Trying to figure out the position of the support bar, whether it goes in front or to the rear of the car attachments? Were spacers used and if anyone has a photo of spacers, which I believe were used on the attachme...

Re: Gas tank sender bolt size ?

tiny Whitworth or 2BA, I should have some junk parts to check for you when I get home from work. Someone on Facebook told me BSF 3/16" or 1/4" I'm thinking 1/4" is too big, so maybe the 3/16" ?? Any help would be appreciated. I found a shop in Maryland that carries stuff like th...

Gas tank sender bolt size ?

Does anyone know the exact bolt size that is supposed to be used for this 52 Roaster 4AD gas tank. The bolts used to secure the sender down?
Every one of my bolts seem stripped, but I'm thinking maybe they're just the wrong size. Are they standard(imperial), metric or Whitworth ??

Re: Misc. parts to identify

Some other parts to identify, may possibly be radiator related ?? It's some type of rubber. Someone told me they go under the radiator, where it bolts to the chassis. Currently the shop that installed my radiator did put rubber washers. But they're only about 1/8 inch thick, and not half inch like p...

Re: Misc. parts to identify

those are the rear engine/transmission mounts, never seen the wooden parts before and not related to the motor mounts. Under the headlights was a rubber gasket, not wood. I knew about the transmission mounts. I was just surprised that the outline matched, and even the hole separation was the same. ...

Misc. parts to identify

Finally getting the car put together and have come across a couple of miscellaneous pieces. Not sure where they belong. I've had several people helping me over the years and was probably not the one that disassembled some of these parts. Anyone has suggestion these? I thought for a minute it had som...

Re: Head for 51 1500cc 4AD

Yes, that does look like the real deal. Time for a history lesson. In mid/late 1955 Singer changed the head design and this is one of those heads. It will fit your car and all 4AD's. Notice the 3 intake holes though, that is because the head can be used as a Twin-carb OR a Single carb. There is a s...

Just found this online, obviously you can only tell so much from a picture, but do these look like the real deal?

Head for 51 1500cc 4AD

Long story short, I need a head for my 1500 CC 4AD motor. My old head had cracks that were welded, but upon finally starting up the engine after 30 years of inactivity and after much work $$ almost every major component replaced or refurbished, there is still water getting into one of the cylinders,...

Re: Oil Pressure release valve 4AD 1951

A little rusty but I think it will work just fine image.jpg On its way tomorrow Mike Absolutely great, thank you. Not sure how mine went missing. I'm thinking the person tasked with breaking down the block for cleaning is the likely suspect. I can't wait for it to arrive and move forward with final...
